About

This fanlisting was originally owned by Zankai who allowed me to adopt it in August 2004. Subaru is one of my favorite anime characters and massive thanks go out to her for giving me the chance to own Subaru's fanlisting!

Subaru is one of the characters in .hack//SIGN and plays an integral role in the anime. She is voiced by the seiyuu Kaori Nazuka. Subaru is a Heavy Axeman. She leads the Crimson Knights and eventually becomes good friends with Tsukasa (the main character in the series). She is also close to Krim (an ex-member of the Crimson Knights who founded the organization along with Subaru). I'll note that Subaru has met/meets both characters offline in addition to her interaction with them in The World.

The next section contains MAJOR SPOILERS!

We find out later in the series that Subaru (Mariko Misono being her real name offline) is in a wheelchair in real life. She was paralysed in a car accident. She enjoys The World because it gives her the chance to do things she can no longer do offline. During the series, Subaru is a big support to Tsukasa and gives him both the mental strength and courage needed to save The World and awaken Aura. After Tsukasa is finally able to log out of the game again, Subaru/Misano meets her offline.
