Basic Bio

Maggie was born September 20, 1964, in Hong Kong. Part of her childhood was spent living in England. At 19 she became first runner up in the Ms. Hong Kong pageant. She married the french film maker, Olivier Assayas, in 1998, but they divorced in 2001.

Maggie began her career by appearing in comercials and modeling. She was the first Chinese actress to win the Best Actress award at the Berlin International Film Festival and Cannes Film Festival. She has been in several Wong Kai-Wai films and has acted beside Tony Leung Chiu Wai and Brigitte Lin Ching Hsia numerous times.
