Fruits Basket is a manga (and anime series, but the manga owns the anime in so many ways I won't even mention it here *coughs*personalbias*coughs*) created by Takaya Natsuki. It is currently still ongoing in Japan (though the end is near based on the events unfolding in the newest chapters) and is licensed by Viz in the United States.

Sohma Shigure and Sohma Kureno are two characters from the series. If you've read or seen any of Fruits Basket you probably know the story is in large parts about the Sohma family who are cursed. Certain members when touched by the opposite sex turn into one of the animals of the Chinese Zodiac. Shigure is the dog and Kureno is the rooster.
