AboutThis fanlisting was adopted from Melanie in January 2007. I've been a big fan of this movie since it first came out and after many times applying, am thrilled beyond words to finally be able to run the fanlisting for it! ^_^Crazy/Beautiful came out in 2001. It stars Kirsten Dunst, Jay Hernandez, and Bruce Davison. Crazy/Beautiful tells the story of Nicole Oakley, a troubled seventeen year, who's father is a wealthy congressman. On the surface it would seem like she has everything she could want, but on a closer look, one realizes her life is not quite that simple. Carlos Nuņez, a poor Latino at her high school runs into Nicole by chance. Where Nicole seemingly does nothing right (breaks every rule, drinks, parties nonstop), Carlos is a straight A student who has loafty dreams and goals for his future. Soon a relationship develops and Carlos starts getting pulled into Nicole's life. As everyone around them objects to their relationship, Carlos begins to wonder if Nicole is worth giving up everything for. Crazy/Beautiful is a very moving and touching story. I love how we get to see the way a 'normal' person interacts and eventually falls in love with someone who views the world through a different lens than they do.
